Business Development Training

Bastrop Main Street is proud to offer workshops and seminars on a variety of topics to downtown businesses throughout the year.

The Governor’s Small Business Handbook is Available Online

The Small Business Handbook provides in-depth information on starting a business in Texas including information on business formation, employee requirements, taxes and business financing. Also included, is information on programs and resources available to entrepreneurs and small business owners to help them start, grow and scale their business.

Design Assistance through Texas Historical Commission

The Texas Main Street Program provides design assistance to official Main Street cities. These services are offered to individual building and business owners within the designated Main Street District at no charge. Services provided range from facade renderings to Investment Tax Credit Assistance. Businesses may contact the Main Street Program office at (512) 332-8980 or sobrien@cityofbastrop.org to apply.

Economic Development Assistance through Texas Historical Commission

The Main Street Program of the Texas Historical Commission provides economic development assistance to participating Main Street cities. These services are offered to building and property owners as well as developers exploring investment opportunities within the designated Main Street District at no charge. Services range from SWOT analysis to Economic Impact Studies. Businesses may contact the Main Street Program office at (512) 332-8980 or sobrien@cityofbastrop.org  to apply.

Historic Landmark Designation Tax Rebate

Downtown properties with a Historic Landmark Designation are eligible for a Property Tax Rebate. Properties not designated my apply through the Historic Landmark Commission for designation. Interested parties may contact the City of Bastrop Planning & Development Department at 512-332-8840.  Click here for general info.
