Downtown Bastrop welcomes new Main Street Manager Rebecca Gleason
Rebecca Gleason began her employment with the City of Bastrop on January 2, 2019 as the new Main Street Manager. Ms. Gleason has a strong passion for public service and possesses excellent communication skills. She believes in constant two-way communication to keep a pulse on the needs and satisfaction levels of those she serves.
Rebecca is a licensed attorney and her previous employment includes Dean of Academics for Hallmark University, Adjunct General Education and Business Professor, and Managing Partner of a Law Firm. Rebecca obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of St. Thomas, her Master of Arts degree from St. Mary’s University and her Juris Doctorate from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2009.
Ms. Gleason prides herself in remaining innovative for today and tomorrow, staying abreast of trends through market intelligence and continuous research. She looks forward to immersing herself in to the downtown needs of our merchants and citizens as she begins her career in public service.
Rebecca loves to read and considers herself to be a “book nerd.” She’s an avid traveler and enjoyed studying abroad in the Yucatan. She also loves to find treasures in little shops and antique stores on the weekends. Rebecca adores her nephew, whom she lovingly calls Smiling Jack and her cat, Gigi.
